Axis Configuration

Output Formatting & USB Telemetry
Select the telemetry routing. Trk-H background runtime is required for TrackIR/Freetrack.
Buffers incoming USB packets dynamically to prevent data gaps caused by USB controller timing issues. Adds minimal latency (~1–2 ms). Keep disabled if tracking is smooth.
USB TX rate only — internal sensor math stays on its own hardware clock.

💡 LED Status Indicators

  • Blinking Orange: Service Mode Active. The device is waiting for configuration commands.
  • Blinking Blue: Tracking Mode - Sensor initializing or uncentered. Keep your head still.
  • Solid Cyan / Light Blue: Session Ready. Sensor data is stable, actively tracking.
  • Solid Green: Perfect Calibration State. Calibration values successfully locked into memory.
  • Solid Red: Hardware Error or Lockout Triggered.

🎮 Trk-H Runtime Configuration

Highly recommended over the legacy Opentrack path. Provides much better performance with lower CPU load.

  • Requirements:
    • Download TrkHRuntime.zip below and unzip the file. No installation is required and file can be run from any location.
    • To run the Trk-H runtime service just double click the executable. For debugging data this can also be launched in CMD with --console handle.
    • Note! "Trk-H Runtime" needs to be set as Output Protocol in the configuration page.
    • Note! Some "Output Translation Gain" is recommended when bypassing Opentrack curves.

🎮 OpenTrack Configuration

To utilize the Trk-H tracker with Opentrack you need to select the "Legacy: Opentrack" output protocol in configuration page. Additionally the Trk-H OT plugin is required as the standard "Joystick Input" in Opentrack is no longer supported by Trk-H

  • Input Protocol: Select Trk-H Headtracker from the dropdown list. Click "Settings" next to the protocol.
    • Trk-H plugin can be downloaded from below.
    • Plugin contains 2 files the actual plugin DLL, which needs to be copied to Opentrack installation folder and into "modules" sub-folder. Hidapi.dll is placed in the root of Opentrack installation folder.
  • Output Protocol: Select Freetrack 2.0 Enhanced from the dropdown list. Click "Settings" next to the protocol.
    • Select the interface; "Enable both" is the recommended option.
  • Filter: No external filters are required for this unit as it sends out already filtered data. Additional filters can, however, be used.

Quick Setup:

Place Trk-H_default.ini in your Documents/opentrack-2.3 folder. Extract the plugin zip; opentrack-tracker-TrkH.dll into your OpenTrack install / modules folder. Hidapi.dll into your OpenTrack install folder.
